Since 1995, the General Motors Place has been home to the Vancouver Canucks. It was built at the cost of $160 million and was meant to replace the Pacific Coliseum which housed the Vancouver Canucks from 1970 to 1995.
Able to welcome 18,630 spectators during hockey games, and even more during concerts, the General Motors Place as seen to this day over 10 million people walk through its doors. The General Motors Place will be a key player during the upcoming 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games in February. The arena therefore be temporarily renamed the Canada Hockey Place. |
