Over the last summer, many changes were made as players switched jerseys in a fervent effort to make sure they had a team to call their own before the lockout put an end to the musical chairs that Free Agency has become. The good news is that, thanks to the end of the lockout, we’ll soon know if moves like the ones the Minnesota Wild pulled off this summer will pay off? Having spent $198 million on only Forward Zach Parise and Defenseman Ryan Suter. And wheel that is undoubtedly a lot of money, you just have to wonder if its going to be money well spent? With eyes on the shortened season, the real question will become, does the game of hockey get broken wide open and will there be an increase in scoring? Typically there has been a mild increase in scoring following NHL lockouts, but with little changes being made to the actual on-ice product, any increase in offense we are likely to see will have to come from the players themselves. Whatever the case may be, we here at hockeytickets.ca are hoping for an endless stream of goals, starting this Saturday as the NHL embarks on its opening night.
